Carl Kurlander, the self deprecating, insightful scribe behind the 80's smash hit and  plucky, teen sit-com Saved by The Bell, might have once made the best mistake of his life. This mistake:  to leave Los Angeles at the height of a successful writing career, move back to Pittsburgh, and take a job teaching screenwriting at the University of Pittsburgh. 'My Tale of Two Cities': Movie pick for July 16 and 18, plus capsule reviews for July 16-22
The resurrection of Pittsburgh is the focus of this documentary from director-producer-writer Carl Kurlander. Screens at 6:45 p.m. Friday, July 16 and 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 18 at the Cleveland Museum of Art, 11150 East Blvd. Kurlander will be on hand for Q&A sessions both days. The Friday discussion, with an eye on lessons for Cleveland, will include Tamera Brown of Positively Cleveland and Ivan Schwarz of the Greater Cleveland Film Commission. (Read More)
